Overview
This article explains how to check the available, or remaining, storage within your OneDrive. The article will also help you identify the largest files in your OneDrive so that you can review them and clean them up as needed.
Checking Storage Using the Web
Once logged in, in the bottom left-hand corner, you’ll be able to see how much space that you’re currently using -
If yours looks like this -
Your navigation pane will need to be expanded -
Checking Storage Using the OneDrive Sync Client
You can also check your OneDrive storage via the OneDrive sync client. To do so, locate the OneDrive icon in your system tray (bottom right-hand corner of your screen on Windows, top right-hand corner of your screen on Mac) -
Right-click on the OneDrive icon and select Settings -
On the settings page, in the bottom left-hand corner, you’ll be able to see how much space that you’re currently using -

From there, you’ll be able to see your files, largest to smallest and can download or delete files that you no longer need to free up space. Once a file is deleted, it will sit in your recycle bin for 93 days, so if you need to free up space more quickly, you can empty your recycle bin by clicking the link at the top of the page -

Reviewing Teams Meeting Recordings
If you record a lot of Teams Meetings, these meeting recordings get stored in your OneDrive. Teams meeting recordings typically take up a lot of space, it is good practice to occasionally review these and clean them up if they are no longer needed. You can find your Teams Meeting recordings in your OneDrive > Recordings folder.
